The Effects workflow is used to change how a clip behaves or appears beyond its base content.

What Effects Are Used For

In the current editor, effects are applied when you want to:

stylize a selected clip
add motion-adjacent visual treatments
refine the behavior or presentation of an asset

How Effects Fit Into Editing

Effects are usually applied after a clip is already in the timeline.

That makes them part of the refinement stage rather than the initial asset placement stage.
