Extend Timeline with AI

The Extend feature lets you add new content to the end of your existing video without starting a new project. Wayaframe walks you through a guided three-step flow to generate additional script, voiceover, and scenes, then inserts everything onto your timeline.

How to open

You can start extending from two places inside the editor:

• Click the Extend button at the bottom of the property panel rail on the right side.
• Click the vertical Extend video with AI button at the end of your timeline.

Both open the same three-step modal.

The three-step flow

The Extend modal uses the same guided workflow as creating a new project with AI, but adds content to your existing timeline instead of starting fresh.

Step 1: Script

Choose a video type and style, then generate a script for the new section. You can edit the generated text or write your own. The script controls how long the new content will be and what scenes are created from it.

This step uses the same video types, styles, and AI editing tools as Script Generation.

Step 2: Voice Designer

Generate voiceover from the script using AI text-to-speech, or provide your own audio by uploading a file or recording directly.

This step uses the same voice tools and providers as Voice Designer.

Step 3: Scene Director

Wayaframe generates scene descriptions from your script and creates AI visuals for each scene. You can review, swap, regenerate, or replace any scene with your own media before inserting.

This step uses the same scene tools as Video Generation.

Navigating the steps

The sidebar on the left of the modal shows all three steps. Completed steps display a checkmark. You can click back to a previous step to make changes, but each step requires the previous one to be complete:

• Voice Designer requires a script.
• Scene Director requires both a script and voice audio.

Use Back to return to the previous step or Cancel to close the modal.

Adding to the timeline

When you're satisfied with the generated content, click Add to Timeline in the Scene Director step. Wayaframe inserts the voiceover and scene clips at the end of your current timeline with proper timing. All inserted clips are grouped so you can undo the entire insertion in one step.

Saving your progress

Your progress is automatically saved as you work. If you close the modal before inserting, you can reopen it later and continue from where you left off.
