Library Panel

The Library Panel gives you access to your full Library from inside the editor. Browse your uploads, AI generations, stock media, saved groups, and folders without leaving the editing workspace. Click Library in the sidebar rail to open it.

Library Panel

Panel header

The top of the panel includes three action buttons:

  • New Folder: create a folder to organize your media. Disabled when viewing a built-in collection like Favorites or Shared With Me.
  • Stock Media: open the stock media browser to search and import free assets from Pexels, Pixabay, Unsplash, Giphy, and Freesound. See Stock Media.
  • Import Media: open the upload modal to add files from your computer or import from a URL. See Import Media.

Use the search bar below the header to filter media by name. Results update as you type. When viewing saved groups, search also matches group names and clip text content.

Media tabs

Filter your media by type using the tabs below the search bar:

  • All: every asset with a total count.
  • Images: image files only.
  • Videos: video files only.
  • Audio: audio files only.

Each tab shows the number of matching items in parentheses.

Sort

Click the sort button next to the tabs to change the display order:

  • Newest Created (default)
  • Oldest Created
  • Name (A-Z)
  • Name (Z-A)

Collections and folders

When no collection or folder is selected, the panel shows a list of clickable chips for quick navigation:

All Media

All media in your Library regardless of type or folder.

Favorites

Assets you've marked as favorites. Toggle favorite status from the right-click menu on any media item.

Shared With Me

Media shared from other users' projects. When multiple projects have shared media with you, items are grouped by project. Click a project to view its shared assets.

Saved Groups

Reusable collections of timeline elements you've saved from the editor. Only shown if you have at least one saved group. Click to browse your groups, then click a group or drag it onto the timeline to insert all its elements at once.

From any saved group, you can right-click to Rename or Delete it.

Folders

Your custom folders appear below the built-in collections, each showing a name and media count. Click a folder to view its contents. Use the back button in the folder header to return to the main view.

Media grid

Media is displayed in a two-column grid. Each card shows:

  • A thumbnail preview (images and videos show a visual preview, audio shows a waveform icon).
  • A duration badge for videos and audio.
  • A usage count badge showing how many times the asset appears on the timeline (e.g. "x3").
  • The asset name, type label (Image, Video, Audio, Lottie), and dimensions.

Videos display a play icon overlay on their thumbnail.

Adding media to the timeline

There are two ways to insert media from the Library Panel:

  • Click any media item to insert it at the current playhead position on the timeline.
  • Drag and drop a media item onto the timeline to place it on a specific track and time position.

After inserting, the new clip is automatically selected and scrolled into view on the timeline.

Media preview

Hover over a media item and click the expand button in the top-right corner of the thumbnail to open a larger preview without leaving the panel.

  • Images display at a larger size.
  • Videos play automatically with full playback controls.
  • Audio shows a waveform icon with an audio player.

The preview includes an Add to Timeline button and a More Options menu with the full set of media actions.

Right-click actions

Right-click any media item to open a context menu with these actions:

  • Add to Timeline: insert the asset at the playhead position.
  • View Details: open the full media detail view. See Media Details.
  • Open in AI Gen Studio: reopen the asset in its original AI Gen Studio session. Only shown for assets created in AI Gen Studio.
  • Copy AI Prompt: copy the generation prompt to your clipboard. Only shown for AI-generated assets.
  • Add to Favorites / Remove from Favorites: toggle quick-access status.
  • Move to Folder: move the asset into a folder. Not available for shared media.
  • Rename: change the asset name.
  • Download: save the file to your computer.
  • Delete: permanently remove the asset from the Library.

Right-clicking empty space in the panel shows options to Import Media, Stock Media, or New Folder.

Drag and drop files into the panel

You can drag files from your computer directly into the Library Panel to import them. The panel detects the file type and routes it accordingly:

  • Images, videos, and audio open the upload modal.
  • PDF and PPT/PPTX files open the document import flow.
  • Spreadsheet files (CSV, XLSX) open the spreadsheet import flow.
  • .wayaframe files open the project import flow.
