Reverse Video

Reverse Video creates a reversed copy of a video clip so it plays backwards. Use it for creative effects like rewinding action, revealing a scene in reverse, or creating boomerang-style loops. The reversed video replaces the original clip on the timeline while preserving any effects, filters, and speed settings you've applied.

How to access

Select a video clip on the timeline, then open the Tools tab in the property panel and click Reverse Video.

How it works

When you click Reverse Video, Wayaframe processes the entire video frame by frame to create a new reversed version. A loading indicator shows while processing, with a Cancel button if you want to stop.

Once complete, the reversed video replaces the clip on the timeline. If you had trimmed the clip to show a specific section, the same section is preserved in the reversed version.

What's preserved

  • Visual effects, filters, and color adjustments: all remain applied on the reversed clip.
  • Speed settings: any speed changes continue to apply on top of the reversed playback.
  • Trim points: automatically remapped so the same visible segment is shown, just in reverse.

What's removed

  • Audio: the reversed clip is created without audio. Any voice swap, voice enhancement, or audio translation applied to the original is cleared.

Reverting

Use undo (+Z) to restore the original clip. The entire reverse operation is grouped as a single undo step.

Reverse Video supports video clips up to 1 hour in length.
