Recording Permissions

Wayaframe includes a dedicated recording permission modal to help you fix capture access before recording starts.

What The Permission Flow Checks

The current permission flow checks access for:

  • Screen recording
  • Microphone
  • Camera

The modal walks through these permissions step by step and updates its status as permissions change.

When To Use This Flow

Use the permission flow when:

  • Recording will not start
  • Screen capture is blocked
  • Microphone access fails
  • Camera access fails

Wayaframe can also poll permission state changes after you return from system settings.

How The Current Flow Works

The permission modal can:

  • Highlight the current missing permission
  • Request microphone or camera access directly when supported
  • Open system settings for screen, microphone, or camera
  • Refresh device capabilities after you return
  • Continue into recording after the required steps are complete

On Windows, the setup flow also tracks whether the recording setup has already been acknowledged.

If Permissions Still Fail

If the permission state does not update immediately:

  • Recheck the permission in your operating system settings
  • Return to Wayaframe and refresh the permission flow
  • Restart the app if the operating system requires it after granting access

If the problem continues after permissions look correct, report it as a bug and note which permission failed.
